Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that provides that function. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Sequatchie County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to the site may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared outside the site's operation unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can produce routine technical and usage data, including:
- Page-view timestamps and the pages visited
- The referring site, when that information is available
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
- Approximate time spent on a page
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to support site functions and show, in aggregate, how pages are used. Analytics services can help measure popular pages and navigation patterns. A browser can reject or remove cookies, although doing so may alter how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, maintaining, and securing the site
- Routing a search request to the selected outside service
- Measuring page use and overall performance
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Sequatchie County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its pages explain how official material can be requested from the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Office, the Circuit Court Clerk, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry. Visitor data is not compiled into a consumer report or a dossier about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy and retention practices, which this site does not control. Review the provider's terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Sequatchie County government, Tennessee courts, TBI, other public offices, legal resources, or private tools. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's own policy controls the visit. Read that policy before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites for ad selection. Their collection does not occur in a criminal-record database maintained by this site.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Outside search services that process a submitted query
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place or measure ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when valid legal process compels disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for data under the site's control. No internet service can promise absolute security, however, and this policy does not guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such information is identified, it will be removed as required.
Your Data Rights
Rights can differ by residence and applicable law. Tennessee's Public Records Act, Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 10-7-501 through 10-7-516, governs access to government records, while Tenn. Code Ann. § 38-6-120 authorizes TBI criminal-history dissemination. Neither makes this private site the custodian of Sequatchie County government files. For personal data actually held by this site, a user may:
- Ask what personal information is held, subject to applicable law
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Seek deletion when a legal retention duty does not apply
- Opt out of processing where the law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as the site's practices or legal duties change. A new version will appear on this page with an updated effective date.
